Jenny Ivansson

Project Director

Project Director Jenny Ivansson (Växjö, Sweden) earned her MFA in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design in New York. After first working in the industrial design field designing luminaires, Ivansson became interested in how lighting transforms architectural spaces, how it affects our psyche, and how artificial light can mimic natural circadian rhythms.

She joined L’Observatoire International in 2014, after eight years in the lighting design field, and has worked on a wide range of cultural institutions, hospitality, and residential projects—such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial with Gehry Partners, The Grill at the Seagram Building in New York, the British Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Aoyama Global Treehouse in Tokyo with Roman and Williams.

For Ivansson, experiencing and envisioning a space first is crucial before developing anything technical. She loves seeing a rendering come to life and working with a talented, dynamic team toward a common goal.
