Geoffrey Zakarian’s The National is a modern bistro in bustling midtown New York. A refined space reflective of the grandeur of the Benjamin Hotel that houses it, this signature restaurant celebrates the grand cafés and bistros of London, Paris, and New York. Three distinct spaces—a lounge, dining room, and open kitchen—are unified by luxurious finishes and a vibrant atmosphere. The design emphasizes light and elegance with cream lacquer wood paneling, glazed cement tile floors, and custom blue leather upholstery.

Inspired by Parisian bistros & by classic American dining rooms, the lighting for this restaurant is infused with warm yellow hues to create a soft and welcoming environment for customers. The lighting was designed to complement the bustling atmosphere and friendly, efficient service that this restaurant provides to its patrons.
