Associate
Corinne Chabert was born in Mortagne-au-Perche, in the Orne region of France, and grew up in Paris, where her family settled shortly after her birth—an experience that firmly anchors her Parisian identity.
She trained as an interior architect at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière (Académie Charpentier) in Paris in the 1990s, before specializing in lighting design through a master’s degree in interior and exterior lighting from the Fédération Française des Éclairagistes. In the early 2000s, she further expanded her expertise with a degree in management, focusing on project management.
Corinne joined L’Observatoire International in 2014 on the Louis XV restaurant project in Monaco, reconnecting with Hervé Descottes, whom she had first met in 1993 when he offered her one of her earliest professional opportunities at L’Observatoire International in Paris.
For Corinne, light is an immaterial substance that reveals and elevates the visible. She approaches each project as a unique exploration, using light to guide perception, shape atmosphere, and bring a distinct identity to spaces. At L’Observatoire International, she values the diversity and ambition of the projects, as well as the collaborative spirit of the teams, where experimentation and innovation are encouraged.
She is particularly drawn to the construction phase, where ideas take shape through close dialogue with all contributors. For her, this process—where even the most ambitious concepts gradually become reality—remains one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.
